Do you want to be
If it’s really what you want
Then tell me what you need
it ain’t no price they could put on it
Cuz I really want it
If you really want it
Could you really be the one for me
[At this point, I need reassurance. I want to feel secure in what we have. I am so ready to jump in with you, but I want you to be j ust as ready. Certainty like that isn't easy to come by, so I have to ask.]

Been dealing with anxieties
And drowning for a while
Searching for a voice to lift me up
When I am down
[I really be going through it. I have come a long way, but there have been some dark times and trying obstacles. I be in my own way a lot, too. I learned that the first voice to lift me up can be my own, and there is a priceless power in that.]
Ima keep on breathing
Though there’s freedom in the clouds
Keep my head down
And analyze my shadow
[I was struggling with suicidal thoughts at this time. I decided to keep breathing even though there's freedom in the clouds. This is a reference to the personal work I was doing when I wrote this. The shadow is part of psychologist Carl Jung's theory of the unconscious. It is all the icky feelings we like to pretend are not part of us, but an unintegrated shadow frequently spells trouble. I had to come to terms with the fact that I was carrying a lot of darkness, and that I did not have to shame myself for this. This is an intense process, so I had to stay focused with my head down. This also has some imagery elements where I'm looking at the sky, lost in thought, and then I remember the work I have to do, so I look down to shift my focus literally and figuratively on my shadow.]
Niggas out here Hollow [I wrote the song Hollows about similar mental health struggles, but from a different, more aggressive angle.]
But there’s no replacement
For a strong core [There are people out there empty inside, floating through life in pain or inflicting pain. You have to address the insides, the core.]
That’s a tough pill to swallow
Tough act to follow
But I know y’all waitin for the encore
While I play patient, my heart’s racing
Can’t get complacent
Making the changes
I need range in my lifestyle [This is a reference to Lifestyle by Young Thug, I use the same flow but I enunciate LMFAO]
Get my body right for the sunrise
Where my mind go when the lights out
Demons
Darkness
Terror for no reason
Pleadin
Screamin
Wake me from my sleep
If I’m seizing
I got it in my grasp
Even if this is my last
[These were dark times indeed. I felt like I didn't have control of my mind, and it led me everywhere but forward. Circles and cycles and despair...]

Im set on living life
this year
I’m feeling like a pioneer
Got my eye on a bright frontier
Lord, let me do it while I live
Im set on living life
this year
I’m feeling like a pioneer
Got my eye on a bright frontier
Lord, let me do it while I live
[I had to buckle down and decide what sort of life I wanted for myself. It was so so hard, and the work is not done, but at this point I do feel like a pioneer. As I'm writing this I'm out in Medellin, Colombia by myself doing my mf thing bro. Not quite a pioneer lol they was already here, but I do got my eye on a bright frontier. I want to start now, no bs.]
